Four Seasons / Sheltering Tree Class

Many of you have asked for me to teach the Sheltering Tree Collage class. I am offering this class two days, Saturday, October 24th and, Sunday, November 1st.

This is a beautiful collage featuring the four seasons, using the Sheltering Tree stamp set. The cost of the class is $20 each or FREE with a $25 Stampin' Up order (use hostess code UJFPAET9). This includes all supplies to make one collage with instructions.  Please bring your adhesive of choice.

Tuesday Night Classes

I've had a few ladies respond to my blog last week. Many of you are more available on Tuesdays and would like to attend the classes. Therefore, I will be moving my classes to Tuesday nights starting in April.

1st week - Card Class: Make 6 adorable cards (2 each of 3 designs)!! Cost: $10

2nd week - FREE help session: If your need help with a stamping or scrapbooking project, this is your night!  

3rd week - Scrapbook Class: Come make (3) 12x12 pages that you can take home and simply drop in your photos.  You will make a double page spread & a single page.  Cost is $10

4th week - Paper Pumpkin Brain Storming: Come try Paper Pumpkin, only $2.50 per project. If you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, class is free, please bring your Paper Pumpkin kit.  We will make at least one of the projects as instructed by the kit and then we'll come up with other projects to make using the kit.

All classes are from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Wednesday Night Classes

I have started having Wednesday night weekly classes.  These classes are smaller, shorter and cost less.  Some are even FREE!

The classes are different every week, but I'll try to keep to the following schedule:

1st week - Card Class
2nd week - FREE help session
3rd week - Scrapbook Class
4th week - Paper Pumpkin Brain Storming

I will post the event on my events page and Meetup.com.

If Wednesdays are bad for you, please let me know if Tuesdays are better.  If I have a bunch of ladies that would like to attend on Tuesdays, I will change the date...or do two nights depending on the need.

Soccer in the Rain = Papercrafting in the Car

It's a rainy, very cold, Saturday morning and I'm at my son's soccer game. But I have the best seat in the house! I'm sitting in my nice, warm, car cheering just like many of the other parents. And I'm even getting some paper-crafting done. This is my kind of soccer game!

Oh, and yes I'm paying attention. It's halftime and we're up 4 to 0!

World Card Making Day in October

I'm so excited about World Card Making Day next month.

I would like to celebrate with you on Sunday, October 5th with a FREE Shoe Box Swap!

What is a shoe box swap?  Each person will design (or CASE) and make one card.  Then you will cut out and bring all the materials in a box for each person to make that same card. If twelve people attend, then you will provide materials for the twelve people to make the card.  At the event, everyone will move to each station and make one card.  Therefore, if there are twelve people participating in the event, you will leave with twelve cards.

I hope these directions make sense.  If not, please contact me and I'll try to explain it better.

Maple Park Fun Fest

It's been an interesting weekend so far.  I was supposed to be in the Maple Park Fun Fest today, but when I took my car in for a routine oil change yesterday, my brake fluid cap went missing.  This left me without a car over night and into today.  We finally were able to pick up my car, but after the set up time at Maple Park Fun Fest.  So if you were able to attend today, I'm sorry I wasn't there.  But I'm sure there were other crafter's and vendor's booths that were happy to see you.  

I will definitely be there tomorrow.  The trailer is packed and ready to go, I waterproofed the canopy today and I'm looking forward to having some fun.

Scrapbook Expo & Hinckley German Fest

This is going to be a VERY busy weekend.

Then I'm having a crop at my house Friday night. This is a lot of fun, especially after The Scrapbook Expo. We talk about all the wonderful items we saw and show our goodies. On Saturday, 8/23, and Sunday, 8/24, I will have a booth at German Fest in Hinckley, IL.  The fest will be located at Pioneer Park in Hinckley, IL.  This is my first time attending and it sounds like a lot of fun.  Parking and Fest entry is FREE.  They just ask for you to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the food drive.  Check out their site at: https://sites.google.com/site/hinckleygermanfest/

Sterling Quarter Mania Raffle Winner

Sorry Ladies, after the Sterling Quarter Mania, I went on vacation to celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary.  We had a great time in Wisconsin Dells.  I’ll post some pictures later.

The Big Winner

It's been a great weekend so far.  I made out like a bandit yesterday at the Make-A-Wish fundraiser Craft and Vendor show.  I won three raffle prizes, including a Make-Up Eraser, a $10 Gift Certificate from Origami Owl, and a small locket/necklace from Southern Hill.

Now I'm off to the Quarter Mania in Sterling.  I'm really excited to find out what it's all about.  I had to bring three prizes for the raffle.  These are the three I made.

The first one is a gift bag with five cards and envelopes (not pictured).  The second is a lollipop bouquet with a card and envelope. And the third item is a set of 8 cards with envelope.

We'll see how it goes and I'll let you know soon.

Upcoming Events!

It's been a few weeks since I last posted and so many things have happened in my life.  I received a promotion at work which is a good thing, but currently I've had to work many hours.  Due to this promotion, I have passed the papercrafting teaching position at Michaels on to my good friend and fellow scrapbooker, Jessica.  I'm still working for Michaels as her back-up, but I won't be there as often.

This opens up my schedule for more opportunities.  I've been thinking of things I want to do and looking for ideas to motivate myself.  I'm excited to say that I'll be holding more events at my house and I'm venturing into doing craft shows and other events.

My first craft show is a fundraiser in Sandwich, IL, benefiting the Make-A-Wish foundation.  It will be from Noon to 5pm at The Party Lodge on Rt 34.  So come on down on Saturday, July 26th, to check out my booth and all the action.  There will also be raffle prizes up for grabs as well.

On Sunday, July 27th, I'll have a booth at the Sterling Quarter Mania in Sterling, IL.  I know it can be a drive for some of you, but it sounds like A LOT of fun!  I've never been to a quarter mania, so this should be interesting.  It will be held at the Latin America Club from 5pm to 7pm.

I'm also adding events to my calendar at home, including: a Paper Pumpkin Club night, Operation Write Home card making events, beginning stampers classes, and of course my usual card making classes and crops.  Check out my event page for more information.
