Way Too Long!

I can't believe that I haven't posted anything in such a long while. Let's see, what has happened since I last posted?

I graduated from NIU in May.
Dillon and I have had a GREAT summer together.
I'm starting a new job next Monday.

Not much here, so why couldn't I update my blog??? Oh, that's right...I've been scrapbooking.
SmileyCentral.com
I'm still trying to finish all the wonderful scrapbooks I started about 10 years ago. I did finish a couple of them, but I'm no where near finished. I'm almost done with Jake's book and I only have out 16 more pages to finish our Zoo trip from 2002. I know, call me CRAZY!

Well hopefully, I'll start posting more often. My like just doesn't seem exciting enough to post every week. We'll see what I can do.

Another Month

Well another month has gone by with very little blogging. I have been very busy with school and now I'm getting ready to go on a well deserved weekend scrapbooking trip. Hopefully I'll have pictures to show when I get back.

Study Crazy

I just had to share the wonderful thing I have been doing for the last five days. These are pictures of my scrap room and what it is being used for. All these notecards are for one test. The test covers seven chapters, we will be given five essay questions which we only pick for to do, the answers have to be pricisly what the professor wants to hear, and these four questions are worth 200 points out of 1000 points for the semester. Can we say CRAZY! I'd actually like to use other words, but I'm being nice.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention the notecards are all hand written. And I typed very detailed outlines of the chapter. And another thing I forgot to mention is that we are being graded based on what other people write. It all depends on who has the best answer and then it all goes down hill from there. Yippee!!!!

Well, back to my studies. Hopefully tomorrows test won't be as bad as I'm antisipating...with my luck it will probably be worse.

Afterwards, I am going to sit down with a tall drink.

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day.

I just have to share my VD story with all of you. My DH got 5 tickets to go to Monster Jam, so we took Dillon and two of his friends. We drove from DeKalb all the way to the All State Arena (former Rosemont Horizon) with three 8yr old boys.

Well let's just say an hour and a half drive in a car with three boys talking about bugers and brains feels like 5 hours. The show was great until my DH decided that we were all thirsty and took the boys to get drinks. Sounds good, right? Problem started when he let the boys pick out thier drinks. He came back with three MTN DEWS! Was he freak'n crazy! What was he thinking?!?

So of course they didn't drink most of it there, they drank about 80% of it in the car while we were trying to get out of the parking lot! Now we have 3 boys not only hyper because they were together, saw crazy drivers, listened to loud engines and haven't really ran for the last 3.5 hours. But now they have 16oz. of pure sugar and caffeine in thier systems. And let's not forget, THEY ALL HAVE TO PEE!!! No gas station on the highway for 20 miles.

By the time we got to the bathroom, the boys are about to cry because they have to go so bad. And DH has yelled at them to be quiet because they have resorted to laughing loud and screaming in the car. After the pee break they are not aloud to talk the rest of the way home.

DH did finally let them talk after about 20 min of them sitting in the back of the van trying not to laugh at each other. But we only had about 10 more min until we were home to drop them off.

After all the kids are dropped off, the conversation goes like this:

Dillon, "Mom, I didn't know there was orange Mtn. Dew."
Me, "Yes, there is."
Dillon, "I never get Mtn. Dew."
Me, "That's because it is loaded with sugar and caffiene so I won't let you have it."
DH, "I didn't even think about that."

At that point I wanted to smack DH upside the head and say, "DUH!"

Later on DH did take me to Tapalaluna's resteraunt where we spent a nice time, just the two of us, and lots of food.

January Recap

Well it's been a while since I blogged, so here's a little recap of January.

I completed 10 pages which included finishing 3 albums. I only had a few pages in each album to complete but it took me over 10 years to finally sit down and actually do them.

Dillon celebrated his 8th birthday with cupcakes at his Cub Scout meeting, cookies at school, a family party and finally a friend party only three weeks after his birthday.

We celebrated Keith's birthday by going to Filo Spinato's. This was our first time going to this restaurant and the food was fabulous. I can't wait to go again.

We took Dillon a few of his friends sledding. They had a blast. I went to take a bunch of pictures and watch them. Keith ended up being the sled pusher and went down the hill a couple of times with Dillon. I did go down the hill once with Keith (I didn't want to have to carry the sled back up the hill). We went down on a large inner tube and I laughed all the way down. It was sooooo funny!

Keith asked me to trim his hair for him one evening and he did something that distracted me, I was talking and not thinking. Well I forgot to put on one of the sheer guards and I just started shaving. After I started cutting, he asked "what number do you have on that?" All I could do is freeze, say "oops," and bust out laughing. I was laughing so hard that I was crying and begging my mother to fix it. She did go to beauty school, so she should be able to fix it, right? NOT! There was no way to fix it so I had to shave his whole head. After I was done and stopped crying from laughter, I decided that it looked better at this new SHORTER length. When he went to work the next day, everyone agreed with me. Although it did look good when I finished, it was a hilarious "oops" when it happened!

Around the middle of the month I thought I was knocking on deaths door. I was having a terrible time breathing and ended up in the ER. After an X-ray of my lungs, a CAT scan, a urinalysis, blood tests, an EKG, and a breathing treatment, they sent me home with an inhaler and ibuprofen. I was told I had a virus. It was one hell of a virus! While I was in the ER and had every tube hooked up to me that they could find: one on my finger, oxygen tubes in my nose, an IV and I was smoking a peace pipe (having a breathing treatment), this is when my husband asks if I have my camera. Well since I came straight from school and don't carry it there with me, no, I didn't have it with me. Mind you this is one of the very rare times he asks for a camera. He says to me "to bad, this would make a great scrapbook page." What is this man thinking? He hardly ever takes a picture of me when I'm dressed up or looking nice, he wants to take a picture of me with a bunch of tubes sticking out of me...MEN!!!

For the next week I spent a lot of time on the couch and tried to keep everything on a low key.

And then I had 7 boys at my house to celebrate Dillon's birthday. Someone shoot me if I ever think of having that many boys in my house again without their parents. Boys are ROUGH! Luckily it was a great evening for them all to play in the snow. Dillon had a great time. We suprised him with a visit from his best friend Hunter that moved to Cary and we haven't seen in a couple of monts. He was most excited when he learned that Hunter was staying the whole weekend with us! It was great for me too because Hunter and Dillon got along great and didn't bother me at all. They played and played and played...

Then this past Friday, I had a crop. We had Thora and Natalie join us for their first time and we look forward to scrapping with her again. Toni and Nadeen was with us, we hadn't seen either of them for a while. Now Toni is buying a house in Campaign and we hope she keeps in touch. Toni is excited because the house she's buying has a one bedroom apartment attached to it which she is converting into her stamping, scrapping and sewing studio. I told her that we need pictures, this is so exciting! Nancy gave me a belated Christmas present that I am very ecstatic about. She gave me two stamp sets; one is of a tigers head and the other is a really cute baseball set. I can't wait to use them, thank you very much Nancy! We also had 6 ladies that are our regulars that I always love seeing. I have so much fun with all the ladies, they are really a great group. I always look forward to scrapping with them.

Finally, yesterday we celebrated my Uncle's 70th birthday. My Aunt Pam had a huge open house b-day party for him and probably invited half of the O'Hare United Airlines ground crew. There were a lot of people there and my Uncle really appreciated it. The family stayed late and we pulled out the cards to play our family favorite...Pinochle! We had a great time! My Aunt Bev was my partner and we were the only all girl team. I hadn't played since my Grandmother died over three years ago. We played three rounds and went undefeited...yippee! GIRLS RULE!

So as you can see, I was either very busy or very sick this month. And now I'm looking forward to another very busy month.

Jump Start My Resolutions!

I am so proud of myself. I really put my resolutions into overdrive the last couple of days. I have had a bunch of scrapbook albums just sitting here incomplete with only a few minor things that had to be finished in them.

First off, my High School album I started about 10 years ago, only need the front page completed. Wow! that was easy and now it's done. Then my sons first Christmas album has been sitting in my drawer only needing about 5 pages completed. It had been sitting there for about 7 years...now it done. And then the one I just finished last night only need a title made and added to the very last layout. It had been sitting there for about 6 years, just waiting for that simple detail. Well they're all done and now I actually have albums in my living room for people to view.

I found three more albums that need only a few pages or pictures added and then they will be done. But then I have a bunch more catching up to do. At least I got a good jump on my resolution. Hopefully I can stick to it and get a bunch more done in the coming days before I have to return to my hectic school schedule.

Resolutions!

I should have posted this the other day, but I was so caught up in the newspaper article that I forgot.

I'm not going to make any big resolutions this year, just a couple small ones.

1. Study harder.
2. Graduate from NIU with a BS.
3. Finish all those albums that have been sitting on my shelf incomplete for over 5 years.
4. Finish all those little projects that need to be done around the house that I keep putting off.
5. Complete 209 scrapbook pages in 2009.

And I'm sure there a lot more I should add, but I can't think of any right now.

My wish for everyone is to stay happy, healthy and safe in 2009.

God Bless America!!!
