It's been a very quiet weekend with having the flu.  I had to forgo the Lake Geneva scrapbook retreat I signed up for, so I had my own little retreat at home.

I finally finished a scrapbook layout I've been working on for awhile.  I had so much fun doing this layout because I used a lot of items I forgot I had.  For the chipboard on the right side I used plain chipboard shapes I found in one of my buckets and then painted them with the Memory Makers paint, which I forgot I had in the cabinet.  I also used a lot of punches for the flowers and stems.  I pulled out stamps for the titles that I haven't used in awhile either.  If I had gone to the retreat, I would have never used all these items.  It was great fun pulling out a lot of my older items.

So I challenge all my followers to make a layout using items/tools in their stash you haven't used in a long while.

  2. Love the layout. I especially love the picture of the kid pretending to chew the tree. Kids are funny. Love the chipboard shapes and the flowers.

I did something you might be interested in. I put a bunch of techniques, tools, supplies, etc on slips of paper (ie stamping, stickles, sewing, embossing folders, etc.) Then, when I sat down to scrap I pulled out a slip of paper and used whatever was on the paper. I have done several and have a ton left to go. I don't do it every time I scrap now but occasionally I will pull out a slip of paper. Keeps your scrapbooking fresh and gets you using the tools and techniques you tend to forget about.
